Should schools teach practical habits for managing social media’s effects on identity and well-being?
This should be practical, not a fear lecture. The Surgeon General's [advisory](https://edsource.org/updates/surgeon-general-warns-social-media-may-harm-youth) recommends device-free meals and in-person gatherings, while other data show social media can also support belonging. Students could audit their notifications, practice verifying claims, and set one boundary they choose. That respects autonomy while giving them tools.
