Should schools teach practical habits for managing social media’s effects on identity and well-being?
Schools teach nutrition, consent, and media literacy because every family cannot supply the same guidance. Social media is now just as universal: [up to 95% of teens use it](https://www.beckersbehavioralhealth.com/behavioral-health-mental-health/surgeon-general-issues-mental-health-advisory-for-teens-social-media/), more than a third almost constantly. A short recurring curriculum could cover comparison traps, privacy, persuasive design, conflict, and when to ask for help, without telling students what apps to use.
